On June 25, 2025, Kurtz Ersa and its local sales partner, Long Shine Equipment & Supplies Pte Ltd, welcomed over 120 participants from Malaysia’s electronics industry to the SMT & THT Tech Day at the Eastin Hotel in Penang. Penang, known as Malaysia’s “Silicon Island,” is home to many international electronics and semiconductor companies. This made it an ideal location for an in-depth discussion about improving SMT & THT soldering quality and preventing common soldering failures through proper production equipment parameter settings. These improvements can significantly increase profitability for electronics manufacturers.

Bangkok | From May 13 to 15, 2025, the Kurtz Ersa Southeast Asian Sales & Service Meeting was held at the Long Shine & Kurtz Ersa Application Center in Bangkok. Under the theme “This is Our Defining Moment: Accelerate Growth in SEA!”, sales and service partners gathered to jointly define the strategic direction for the coming years.

Additionally, there was a brief recognition of the successful 30-year partnership between Kurtz Ersa and Long Shine. Ivan Cheah, owner of Long Shine, was presented with a remastered telefax from 1995 as a token of appreciation symbolizing this longstanding cooperation. Bernd Schenker, CEO of Kurtz Ersa Asia, and Ivan Cheah have enjoyed a personal collaboration spanning more than three decades. Our strong partnerships and reliable network form the foundation for future success. This milestone has been made possible through the outstanding collaboration between Long Shine and Long Shine (Thailand) Co., Ltd., who have established a modern office and warehouse complex featuring an integrated Kurtz Ersa showroom. Conveniently located near BKK airport, this prime location ensures excellent connectivity across the region.

Long Shine has participated in Electronics Manufacturing Expo Asia (EMAX) from 19-21 July 2023, Penang Malaysia. Emax 2023 is the only Electronics Manufacturing and Assembly technology and equipment event that brings together an international congregation of chip manufactures, semiconductor manufacturers and equipment suppliers and gather in the heart of the industrial Penang, Malaysia to showcase the latest developments in the industry. We would like to thank those who have visited our booth and our supportive partners such Henkel, Ersa, I-Stock and others that has supported us and make this a successful event.

It has been over 3 years since we last met face to face. Almost an eternity in our high dynamic and fast developing industry!

Fortunately, the Covid restrictions have been significantly reduced in almost all countries in Asia and currently traveling without quarantine requirements is possible again.

Our team participating in Penang SMTA 2022 at Eastin Hotel. It was a successful event that we managed to gather and meet up customers after Covid-19 have strike us back in early 2020.

By exhibiting at a local SMTA expo, we are aligning our company with the same values of providing high-level technical expertise that SMTA represents.

It was great platform to bring professionals within the industry together and provide attendees with exposure to global technology at a local level.

The demo & application center provides an ideal platform for the exchange of technological ideas with users as well as potential customers. Machines as well as soldering tools can be tested, evaluated and assessed onsite.In addition, precise production times can be determined for individual electronic sub-assemblies across the different Ersa equipment. Based on the results, our experts can recommend the optimal machine setup and configurations to meet the demands of the production capacity requirements.

In 2015, together with our long time partner, Ersa, we setup our SEA Demonstration & Application Center in Penang. The showroom is intended to primarily address high-tech industry specialising in electronics for customers around the region. With this setup, we are better able to support and advise customers in a more comprehesive manner where it is becomng more dynamic in the electronics manufacturing segment.
